8tracks Playlist to Listen to While Studying

It’s time for that one dreadful time a year: exams. Here in The Netherlands seniors in secondary school (including one of my best friends) are studying their asses off for their final exams. When I took mine last year I found out that apparently May is the month for exams and a lot of people around the world are also studying their asses off, so I decided to share some playlists that I love to listen to while studying.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!

What kind of music do you listen to while studying? For me it depends. If I’m making a summary I’ll listen to kpop, if I’m actually trying to get things inside my head I’ll either listen to nothing or playlists like the ones above. Anyway, let me know in the comments!

8tracks Playlists You Should Listen To

I already loved 8tracks, but lately I feel like I’ve been obsessed with the website/app. I already shared some playlists I listened to during NaNoWriMo and those are of course among my favourites too, but I won’t repeat them. I decided to share some of my favourite playlists, but when I was looking at the ones I’ve saved so far, I found that I had a hard time choosing, so there will be multiple posts! I think this will be a monthly thing, but I’m not sure about that yet.

We all need a Disney playlist in our lives. Don’t deny it.

This playlist is so nostalgic oh my god every time a new track starts to play I gasp and grab my chest because the childhood feels.

Ace Attorney has the best soundtrack ever okay. Even if you’ve never heard of the games, go listen to this playlist.

Do you guys know how hard it was to choose a favourite K-pop playlist? And I still failed as there are four on this list. Expect a lot more in the next posts.

THIS ONE IS SO CUTE AND CHEERFUL

THIS PLAYLIST. IT’S PERFECT. OH MY GOD. Whether you’re a Hufflepuff or not, you should listen to it. This playlist just sums up my headcanons and feels about my House. It makes me want to create my own Puff playlist (which I will. Hopefully soon)

This playlist sums up The Golden Trio perfectly. I love it.

It’s just really good okay, trust me.

I’ve been listening to this one on repeat lately

I just discovered this one as I was putting this post together and am currently listening to it. Oh my Wizardgod it’s perfect.

Okay so there are all kinds of playlists in this one, from Disney to games to Harry Potter to K-pop. Maybe future posts will have a theme. What do you guys think about that? And do you use 8tracks? What’s your favourite playlist? Do you make any yourself? Leave a link to your profile in the comments so I can check out your playlists in that case!

My Favourite Playlists During NaNoWriMo

So instead of actually working on my novel, I decided to blog! (note: this is written on Friday, so hopefully I’m writing while you’re reading this!)

Except it’s not really procrastinating (ssh hear me out!). I haven’t written that much this week (more about that on Sunday in my wrap up) and while I wanted to catch up today, I’m really tired. I tried writing and I got to 61 words… BUT IT’S BETTER THAN NOTHING RIGHT?!

Right.

So I decided to share with you some playlists that I’ve been listening to so far (and that I absolutely love). The first four are all playlists on 8tracks, the last one is on Youtube: entire Badlands album in one video! Basically it’s perfect. The first three playlists are all based on Throne of Glass and they’re so good. They also fit the the tone of my novel and they’re just nice to listen to while writing. Click on the pictures to be directed to the playlists!

Even if you’re not writing, I definitely suggest you check them out! Especially the first three if you’re a ToG fan. They fit the books so well!

What music or playlists are you listening to during NaNo? Or while writing in general? Let me know in the comments!

Music Monday: Dance

Music Monday is a bi-weekly link-up hosted by Bridget from Stay and Watch the Stars. It’s been a while since I did a Music Monday, but I (sort of) have the time and I feel better, plus I don’t want to miss this theme: Dance!

Shut Up and Dance – WALK THE MOON

This was the first song that I thought of when I read the theme haha

Shake it Off – Taylor Swift

Dancing Queen – ABBA

Pretty much all of their songs Wild at Heart – Arashi

Yeah it was hard for me to choose since a lot of their songs are perfect for dancing, but in the end I decided on Wild at Heart

I Really Like You – Carly Rae Jepsen

You’re The One I Want – Grease

Of course there are a lot more songs that I’d love to dance to, but I’m going to leave it at these!

One day when I have a bit more time I’ll put all of my Music Monday playlists on Spotify (or at least I’ll try haha) What songs do you love to dance to?

Falling Even More In Love With Lifehouse

thumb_IMG_4311_1024

Last Tuesday one of my favourite bands – Lifehouse – performed at the Melkweg here in Amsterdam. I was still sick, but it was so worth it (resulting in me feeling like crap the next day and my throat being worse haha).

Lifehouse is the only band I never stopped listening to the moment I heard one of their songs (Hanging By A Moment) roughly six years ago, which is amazing considering how my taste has changed these past years (even though I’ve always listened to rock). I absolutely love their music – it’s beautiful and inspiring yet so easy to rock to haha. And oh my Gods they made me fall in love with them so much more last Tuesday. But let’s start from the beginning!

I had school until 5:30 pm, so I hurried to the train station to catch the train. Sadly I missed the train I initially wanted, but this was no problem as the band itself started at 09:00 (though I did want to hear the opening act, as they sounded good as well, but I ended up missing them). I got home around 06:30 and had to change, eat and grab my stuff. We ended up at the Melkweg around 08:30, so in time for Lifehouse themselves! Not to mention for a quick trip to the bathroom haha.

I have to admit I was a bit anxious before the concert started. I’ve never heard them live before, and what if they weren’t good?? I’ve been a fan for so long; it would be such a disappointment! Thankfully this wasn’t the case- at all! They were absolutely amazing live. My mom filmed a bit, but those videos could never do them justice. They made me fall in love with them more, not just because their singing voices and the way they played their instruments was incredible, but because they were genuinely nice to their fans and funny (‘I was asked to say something in Dutch, but I forgot what. Sorry.’ Later he did say ‘hallo’ which is Dutch for hello haha).

They played a lot of their older songs, which made me really happy. Of course I love their newer songs as well, but the older songs are the ones I pretty much grew up with (teenage years count as growing up too!) and I’m more familiar with those. I sang along a lot, but yelling ‘WOO’ at the end of every song was a no go: I opened my mouth and literally nothing came out. Then my mom scolded me for even trying, because apparently even when nothing comes out it’s bad for your throat (so learn from my mistake guys haha). But but they were so good and they’re one of my favourite bands and I wanted to show my excitement and clapping like a seal just didn’t seem to convey that that much (I don’t think I can clap like a human being. No, I have to clap like a seal)

This was the only gif of seals clapping I could find??? This is scandalous. I need gifs of real life seals clapping thank you very much

When the concert was over I got myself a hoodie (which I have no picture of but it’s comfy and soft and warm and on the front it says ‘Lifehouse’ in white letters which makes me feel like I’m part of the crew – thus cool. I’ll take a picture soon and show you guys!) and just floated in band heaven haha.

Do you listen to Lifehouse? Have you ever seen them live? Have you been to a concert of a different band/artist lately? Let me know in the comments!

Ps. If you’re not familiar with Lifehouse, ‘falling even more in love with you’ is a line of their song Hanging By A Moment thus the title of this post

Music Monday: Crush Your Enemies

Music Monday is a bi-weekly link-up hosted by Bridget from Stay and Watch the Stars. You may remember that last week I said I was going to make two playlists, well here’s number two! If you want to check out my previous Crush playlist, click here.

Warriors – Imagine Dragons

Here we are, don’t turn away now. We are the warriors who build this town.

In Which I Kick Harry Potter in the Face – Draco and the Malfoys

I’m gonna kick you in the face. I might do it 27 times just in case. I know nothing could ever replace, the picture in my mind of your kicked in face.

Ready, Aim, Fire – Imagine Dragons

With our backs to the wall, the darkness will fall. We never quite thought we could lose it all. Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire.

Bad Blood – Taylor Swift

‘Cause baby now we’ve got bad blood. You know it used to be mad love. So take a look at what you’ve done. ‘Cause baby now we’ve got bad blood.

Bleeding Out – Imagine Dragons

I’m bleeding out. So if it the last thing that I do, is bring you down. I’ll bleed out for you.

Hunt You Down – Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls

You can run on for a long time. Run on for a long time. Run on for a long time, but sooner or later I’m a-hunt you down. But on or later I’m a-hunt you down.

Radioactive – Imagine Dragons

I raise my flag, dye my clothes. It’s a revolution I suppose. We’re painted red, to fit right in.

Spells and Scars – Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls

Boy you’ve got some nerve to think you’ve got a chance, to take down the master with his infinite, power and conviction to our noble cause. So you’ll need more than spells and scares.

Rotten to the Core – Descendants

Mirror on mirror on the wall, who’s the baddest of them all? Welcome to my wicked world.

This is War – 30 Seconds to Mars

It’s the moment of truth and the moment to lie. The moment to live and the moment to die. The moment to fight, the moment to fight. To fight, to fight, to fight.

Battle Cry – Imagine Dragons

Nobody can save me now. The only sound is the battle cry. The battle cry. The battle cry. Nobody can save me now. It’s do or die.

Can you tell I love Imagine Dragons? And remember when I said that this playlist might be my first one without Disney? Yeah, I lied. Rotten to the Core couldn’t be left out. If one day I form an evil squad, I want this to be my theme song. Am I the only one who finds it kind of funny that I put Bleeding Out after Bad Blood? Anyway! If you made a playlist, share it with me in the comments! I’d love to check yours out. Also, any Imagine Dragons fans out there?
