11 facts

Oh boy I’m terrible at coming up with facts about myself (I’d say that’s fact number 1 but I’m going to try and be more original than that lol) Okay let’s try this

  1. I’m currently listening to Keiynan Lonsdale’s Good Life on repeat and loving it
  2. When I was little I got chased by a dog on the beach. I ran away because I was scared but the dog thought I wanted to play
  3. A few years later I got chased by another dog, but the dog came for me, my friend, her mom and their dog first. Her mom told us to run because the dog had a really bad reputation (it had killed other dogs before). It almost bit my friend in her leg – it did not help my fear of dogs (I’m better with dogs now, but there are still dogs that scare me)
  4. I really, really want a Power Rangels sequel I loved that movie so much
  5. I want to rewatch it but there’s a scene that will make me cry thus I’m not rewatching it
  6. As a kid I was able to draw Winnie the Pooh from memory and according to my mom it was really good but I honestly have no idea if it was actually any good lmao
  7. I used to draw a lot but I don’t really enjoy it that much anymore so I barely do it nowadays
  8. I had a goldfish named Blub
  9. When I first played Pokemon Yellow I named my Snorlax after my brother – I wonder if I saw a resemblance or something lmao
  10. Speaking of Snorlax I really want a life-sized plushie (lifesize as in Snorlax’ real size)
  11. When I was little I dragged my family to the beach because I found out you can sometimes see dolphines at the Dutch beach (and I was going through my dolphins phase). There were no dolphins lol

This could be me

WOULD YA LOOK AT THAT. 11 FACTS WITHOUT ME CRYING FOR HELP BECAUSE I COULDN’T THINK OF ANY (okay I cried in my mind ssh)

Evi’s questions

What are you currently working on? Writing, artwork, musically, etc. Current WIP?

My current WIP is still my Camp Nano project, though I’m constantly planning/thinking about other projects as well (help) If you want to know more about my WIP, click here

What are you currently reading?

Well since this is scheduled a few weeks in advance (look at me go!) I have no idea what I’ll be reading by the time you’re reading this. While I’m writing this I haven’t started a new book yet, but I’ll either start Sorcerer to the Crown or Flame in the Mist. I haven’t decided yet.

Most interesting past revelation?

Ummm I don’t know? This is such an interesting question and I have no clue haha

Current phone/computer backgrounds?

If you were in the medieval era, who would you like to think you would be? (Peasant, farmer, queen/king, knight, etc.)

THE COURT’S SORCERESS HELL YEAH

Being a knight would be really cool too, until I stab myself in the eye with my sword

Expectations

Reality

Favorite outdoor scenery?

Ohhh I don’t know! I love trees and gardens but also pretty lakes and mountains and the sea especially at sunset… I just really love nature haha

Favorite season?

I really love both Spring and Autumn, but since I have hayfever I lean more towards Autumn. Both seasons are just the right temperature for me (in theory anyway) and they’re both so pretty!

Favorite thing about the outdoors?

The smell of nature

What fantasy/bookish landscape would you like to live in? (Hogwarts, Narnia, Bag End, etc.)

There are so many worlds I’d love to live in. Hogwarts is definitely at the top of the list, but the Pokemon world?? Yes please. I would love to travel through all the regions with my Pokemon. I’d also love to go to Watford and… No that’s it. I can’t think of any other world I’d actually love to live in because a lot of them are quite dangerous haha

Castles or skyscrapers?

CASTLES CASTLES CASTLES DID I MENTION I LOVE CASTLES BECAUSE I DO

Look at this beautiful castle I went to during the summer ❤️

Favorite color?

All the colours! Okay that’s not true. But I do love a lot of colours and don’t really have a favourite anymore? I do love pink and yellow a lot though

I won’t be tagging anyone, but if you want to share some facts about yourself and answer Evi’s questions, consider yourself tagged! If you were in the medievel era, who would you think you’d be? Do you love castles? Do you also want a life-sized Snorlax plushie? Let me know in the comments!

The Book Fangirling Award – Another One From 2015

Some day I might be all caught up on awards and tags, but today is certainly not that day. Thank you Cátia for nominating me and sorry that it took me almost two years

Rules:

  • Create a post to accept your award.
  • Answer the questions below.
  • Nominate between 5-10 book bloggers who you think also deserve this award.
  • Come up with your own 5 questions for your nominees.

I’m lazy so I won’t be nominating anyone but if you want to do it consider yourself nominated!

1. Book series or standalones? Why?

I know I have to choose but… Both? It can be nice knowing that the story will be over after one book and you won’t have to wait for the next one to see how the story will unfold, but series are so much fun too! I love seeing the story unfold over multiple books, see the characters grow etc.

2. Did you watch anime/cartoons when you were younger? Which ones?

YES! Pokemon of course, but also Yu-Gi-Oh, Sailor Moon, Super Pig (please tell me I’m not the only one who remembers that one?), Winx Club, Totally Spies, Martin Mystery, Avatar the Last Airbender of course, Ojamajo Doremi, Digimon, Shaman King, so many Disney cartoons like the 101 Dalmatians one, the Aladdin one, Buzz Lightyear… There were so many I can’t remember all of them haha.

Little me thought this was SO clever and hilarious she cried tears of laughter

3. Tell me a music that reminds you of your childhood/early teens.

Oh good question. I really need to think about that one haha. Umm there’s this Dutch song. I have no idea what it’s called but the part I’m talking about goes like this (translated from Dutch): ‘Coffee! Coffee! Delicious cup of coffee. Guys who’d like a cup?’ I sang this a lot with my grandmother, but I don’t remember how this became a thing

4. Favorite movie growing up?

According to my mom: Beauty and the Beast, The Rescuers and The Little Mermaid. Those were the ones she had to sit through the most haha. I also adored Winnie the Pooh and Lilo and Stitch.

The Rescuers is SO UNDERRATED. Also I need to rewatch it

5. Where do you live? Tell us something about your city (that us tourists can’t read on the books).

Amsterdam, and I’ve been talking about Amsterdam here and there in my supposed to be monthly feature Blogsterdam but of course I’m failing that haha. Hmm what’s something that you can’t read about in a guide book… I’ve never read a guide book about Amsterdam, so maybe you can read this in a guide book, but… I don’t know where I was going with that sentence, because I can’t think of anything?? Haha I suck

Ummm the canal water is supposed to be really clean but I honestly don’t know where I got that from it’s just this random fact filed away in my brain but this could be a really outdated fact?? Don’t quote me and don’t drink the water okay

Like I said, I won’t be tagging anyone but if you want to answer these questions, feel free! What anime/cartoons did you watch when you were younger? And what was your favourite movie as a kid? Let me know in the comments!

All About My TV Shows Tag

I got tagged by the Queen of TV Shows Kat herself, so thank you Kat! If you’re not familiar with her blog, go check it out!

1. First TV show you ever watched

I definitely don’t know what the first one was, but one of the first was of course Pokémon haha. I know there were many other cartoons/anime I watched, but I don’t know which one was first? It might have been Pokémon, but there’s also a good chance it wasn’t. My first tv show might have been the Dutch Sesame Street as well haha. I really wish I remembered!

2. All-time favorite TV show

For a really, really long time this was definitely Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It is still one of my favourite shows, but it has been so long since I’ve seen it, I’m not sure if I’d still call it my number one? I definitely still love it a lot though. It shaped and inspired me in a lot of ways.

My all-time favourite tv show might actually be The Fosters though. I love it to pieces and it’s so so so important. I’ve talked about it before here and I’m considering writing a separate post on it because though it’s not completely unknown, it definitely deserves more love

3. Your character crush

Oh my gosh only one character? And are we talking current or past as well? Because I think as a kid I had a tiny crush on Ash Ketchum (I’m not sure if I approve of that hahaha).

Right now, it’s really hard to pick because I’m pretty much crushing on all the Shadowhunters characters (minus the obvious ones like Valentine and Sebastian – though Will Tudor is making it very, very hard – why is he so cute this is illegal)

4. Favorite OTP

I have so many OTPs that the ‘one’ part has kind of lost its meaning lmao. It’s really, really hard to choose though. It also depends on what I’m currently watching/reading. Like for a while Victuuri from Yuri on Ice were probably my favourite OTP, but since it stopped airing I lost my obsession (now it’s just a healthy love haha). Right now, I’d have to say Malec from Shadowhunters and Trimberly from Power Rangers (please don’t make me choose I already chose two out of the many, many ones I have)

5. Most disappointing ending or cancellation

Most disappointing cancellation is probably (I say probably since it’s not official yet) is BBC Class. It hasn’t been announced yet, but the ratings weren’t great since BBC barely marketed it and there has been no news regarding a second season yet. Even if it does get renewed though, I’ll have mixed feelings about it since it will be without Patrick Ness, the showrunner and writer of all the episodes. Another disappoiting cancellation was Powerless. I saw it coming, but I didn’t think they were just going to quit airing the remaining episodes. Rude. It was such a cute show, with fun references, a fun (and diverse!) cast, and it covered some important issues while still remaining a light show.

Most disappointing ending is definitely How I Met Your Mother and I will leave it at that or I will go into a rant and believe me no one wants that 🙈

6. A show you would like to be on

As in a cast member? Or a crew member? I’m way too shy to actually star on anything haha (also my anxiety is telling me nope no way start running now), but the Shadowhunters cast seems so lovely and fun that I’d love to work with them. Behind the scenes that is

7. A character you would love to take out on a date

Let me take out all my babies, buy them some ice cream and protect them from the scary thing that is the television industry (stop hurting them you monsters)

8. A popular TV show you can’t stand

Hahaha so many? Woops. Though I really, really can’t stand The Big Bang Theory #sorrynotsorry

9. A scene that made you cry like a baby

So many?? I’m super emotional so there are many scenes that made me cry. It’s also hard to choose one without spoiling anyone. Small spoiler for The Fosters (but a good one? And it’s not like you won’t see it coming?) but Stef and Lena’s wedding(s) made me cry like a baby.
There’s also a scene in the Andi Mack finale that I really, really don’t want to spoil. It’s a happy moment as well though, but oh my god I can still cry just thinking about it.

10. A character with a killer wardrobe

I love Petra Solano’s (Jane the Virgin) wardrobe. Not for me though, but still. Jane herself also has a great wardrobe. Bill Potts’ (Doctor Who) wardrobe was on point. Andi Mack (from Andi Mack) has a great wardrobe that I would’ve appreciated greatly at her age (I do on my age as well haha). Callie from The Fosters usually has great outfits too. Oh and how can I forget Queen Lydia Martin!! I also adored Kira’s wardrobe. Wait I was supposed to pick one?

I TAG

Ash | Smiling Dreamer | Nisha

What’s a popular tv show you can’t stand? Is there a tv character you’d eat some ice cream with? Let me know in the comments!

#ReadThemAllThon Sign up and TBR Pile

So the awesome Aentee had the amazing idea to organise a readathon inspired by Pokémon. Naturally I have to participate. How can I not? Click on her name to be taken to her explanation post. The readathon runs from August 14th to September 4th which is perfect, because school starts again the next day.

Chosen Pokémon

I love all the Kanto starters, but since I always pick a water Pokemon as my starter, Squirtle has a special place in my heart (I don’t have a Squirtle plushie yet and this definitely needs to change soon. Same with Charmander). Aentee has added something extra to win points (CP: combat power) Since Squirtle has three evolutions I’d be able to get more points, since you get extra points when your Pokémon evolves. You get those points from each 10 pages you read and other little challenges (check out her post for all the details!)

The Gyms a.k.a. the Challenges

For this readathon I’m mostly going to try to read books I already own, since I need to save money (for London in October!) and those unread books deserve some love.

Pewter Gym: The First Book In A Series

Merlin: The Lost Years. It’s been on my shelves for two years now I think. It’s time I finally read it. I do have more first books in series on my kindle app (yay for Amazon freebies lol), but seriously, I need to read this and a readathon is the perfect opportunity.

326 pages, potential +32CP

Cerulean Gym: A Book That Might Make You Cry

Les Miserables, which again has been on my shelves for quite some time (about as long as Merlin I think haha. Though I put Merlin off because back then I was still waaay too attached to BBC Merlin (still am. I can’t see any other actors portray those characters) and Les Mis because it’s so intimidating) Even though its size is incredibly daunting, it’s time to at least start it. I’m going to be realistic and not aim to actually finish this, but I want to at least start it. IT’S TIME. And I know it will make me cry because the film did and I’m very emotional.

According to Goodreads my copy has 1263 pages, so potential +123CP (not like I’m going to read 1263 pages anyway lol)

Vermillion Gym: A Book With Thunderous Hype

Wink Poppy Midnight. I’m not sure if it’s still hyped, but a few months ago before it was published I saw it on a lot of blogs. Also it’s quite short which is ideal for a readathon.

247 pages, potential +24CP

Celadon Gym: A Book That Focuses on Diversity

I HAVE NOTHING. NOTHING. Not on my shelves, Kindle app or ibooks app anyway (that is unread) so please recommend me something (that is a bit popular so that I can find it here in The Netherlands). Only for this challenge I’ll go out and buy something

Fuschia Gym: A Book With A Great Romance

Persuasion. Fun fact: I tried to read this two years ago for another readathon but I wasn’t in the mood. I really want to read more of the classics I own (just remembered that that is one of my 2016 goals lol) and I loved P&P, so I need to read more Jane Austen anyway

249 pages, potential +24CP

Saffron Gym: A Book With Fantasy/Supenatural Elements

Talisman by S.E. Akers. It sounds like an interesting read and has good ratings on Goodreads (though not that many). I really hope that it is interesting since it has 600+ pages and if it’s a slow read it’s not a good choice for a readathon… If I really can’t get through it I’ll drop it and choose another freebie on my Kindle app though, since I’ve got quite a few fantasy reads to choose from.

642 pages, potential +64CP

Cinnabar Gym: A Book With A Red Cover

Harry Potter Film Wizardry. This will most likely be a quick read, so perfect to balance out some of the bigger ones.

160 pages, potential +16CP

Viridian Gym: A Book With Post-Apocalyptic Setting

Born to Magic. This one was quite difficult since I didn’t think I had one, but I looked through my Kindle app and searched for each one of them on Goodreads and voila: Born to Magic was found. It takes place in the future when technology no longer exists, but magic does.

345 pages, potential +34CP

Well it’s a good thing this readathon lasts three weeks because this is a very ambitious tbr (lightly put lol). Are you participating? Let me know in the comments!

The Weekly Hufflepuff #25

Um so what happened to February?? What happened to my first year of journalism because I’m almost halfway through my third term, which means that I’m almost about to start my fourth and last one?? What?? It feels like only yesterday that I was studying for my final exams in secondary school and you’re seriously telling me that I’ve almost finished my first year of college?

whatiread

I finished rereading Cinder and started rereading Scarlet, which I just finished rereading today. On to Cress!

personal

I cried at the first shot of Crystal Reed in the flashback episode. She was amazing and badass like always (though all the French accents…*face palm*). I do have some problems with the episode though, but oh well. Two episodes left!! How are they going to solve everything?! I swear they put waaay too many storylines into one season.

POKEMON SUN AND MOON WERE ANNOUNCED

I downloaded Pokémon Yellow and almost cried. Yellow was my first Pokémon game (before that I played my brother’s Pokémon game but wasn’t allowed to save or do much haha) and since I couldn’t really read, let alone in English, I never finished it since at some point my Game Boy Advance died (I’m still devastated at this). You have no idea how mad I was that Game Boy Colour games couldn’t be played on a DS. BUT NOW I CAN FINALLY FINISH IT.

what I posted-2

Look how much I posted this week! Hopefully I’ll keep this up haha

elsewhere

And that’s a wrap! How was your week? Let me know in the comments!

Celebrating 20 Years of Pokémon With The Pokémon Book Tag

So back when I was a smol blogger (I’m still smol, just less smol than back then) I created a Pokémon Book Tag. Since today is the 20th Anniversary of my favourite game franchise, I decided to do it again!

Your starter Pokémon – The first book you started your journey as a reader with

I’ve been reading since I was very small, so I’m not sure what my first book was. It could’ve been one of those ‘learn how to read’ books, but since that’s a boring answer I’ll go with Jip and Janneke by Annie M.G. Schmidt. I remember my mom and grandmother reading them to me, and I’m sure that as soon as I knew how to read I’d want to read them by myself.

Gotta catch ’em all! – Five books you really need to ‘catch’ right now

The English bookstores still don’t have Stars Above, so that one is definitely a priority. Also of course Lady Midnight, which is almost here! I have to wait a bit longer for The Hidden Oracle, but I really, really want that one. I also can’t believe I still haven’t gotten my hands on Monsters of Men after that cliffhanger and I really want to continue Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children so Hollow City (two years ago I used Landline by Rainbow Rowell for this question – I still haven’t read it woops)

A legendary Pokémon appeared! – A special edition/signed copy you own

Sadly I’ve never met Uncle Rick, but at least I got a book signed by him!

Magikarp has evolved in Gyarados! – A book that started out weak but turned out to be really good

I’m going to go with the same answer as back then and say The Maze Runner. The first 80 or so pages were incredibly dull, but I’m glad that I kept reading! I know not everyone loves this series (I feel like you either love or hate it?), but I really enjoyed these books.

Jigglypuff uses Sing! – A book that made you fall asleep

a thousand nights

If you read my review, this won’t come as a surprise. I’m still not sure why I finished it? I hoped that it would get better haha.

Skitty uses Attract! – A book you recently fell in love with

I’m not ‘in love’ with Miss Peregrine’s yet, but I really enjoyed the first book in the series! I haven’t reviewed it, and I probably won’t as my memory is really fuzzy.

The Elite Four – Your top four favourite books

Why did I create such a cruel question back then? I’m going to go with four books I’ve recently added to my favourites

Your Pokédex – A photo of the books you’ve ‘caught’

IMG_0291 IMG_0293(1) IMG_0294

My shelves are a mess right now, so I’ll only share this one haha. It’s on top of one of my closets

Masterball – A book you need a Masterball for to ‘catch’ it – a.k.a. a lot of money

I want all the special editions of all the books (especially the Barnes and Nobles ones) but alas. Money. No have. The Picture of Dorian Gray is definitely on the top of my list though; it’s one of my favourite books and definitely my favourite classic and I love Oscar Wilde.

Tag at least five other trainers

Since I have no idea who of you are Pokémon fans and who aren’t, I tag everyone of you who wants to do this!

If you are a Pokémon fan, how are you celebrating the 20th anniversary? Have you downloaded Red, Blue or Yellow yet? I got Yellow this morning and got all emotional haha. I’ll continue playing tonight, as I have to get back to homework now!

Sinterklaas, food and whipped cream in my eye

Last Saturday was Sinterklaas, a Dutch holiday. I won’t give you guys a detailed explanation about it (since it’s pretty long haha), but basically on December 5th it’s ‘pakjesavond’ (‘presents nights’) and Sinterklaas visits all the children in the country and leaves a lot of presents and candy.

I ate so much food (if some of it even counts as food haha), which is no surprise unless you’re new here (in that case: hi!) because if you’ve been around for a while you should know of my love for food.

Basically I was really full and a bit nauseous (but content!) when we went home haha. But of course the evening wasn’t just us eating! (it may sound that our family gatherings are always me and my family stuffing ourselves with food, but really, it isn’t!)

To keep my six-year old cousin occupied we played some games when all of a sudden we heard a few loud knocks on the door! But when we opened it, there was no one there except for presents! My cousin remained very calm as he dragged his presents inside haha. He had a cool image to keep up of course.

He was really spoiled, but he wasn’t the only one who got presents!

Sinterklaas

How did Sinterklaas know I wanted all of this?! *cough picked all of it out myself cough*. I ordered the illustrated Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone when it had just come out, but since it’s rather expensive I got it for Sinterklaas (though I was really lucky to already find it with a 50% discount!). I now own two Harry Potter POP! Funkos (I already owned Dumbledore), more Tsum Tsums have joined my Tsum Tsum family and I finally have Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (if you’re a fan of Animal Crossing, I definitely recommend it. It’s very cute and fun to play!). I mentioned the Jigglypuff hat in my post about POPCULT. I thought I’d get it for Christmas, but since it’s cold already my mom decided to give it to me now (I mean, Sinterklaas decided that).

I actually wanted to take a picture including the chocolate and the gingerbread man I got, but most of the chocolate is gone already (I doubt any of you are surprised to hear that). My six-year old cousin’s father always buys the gingerbread men, and when my mom unwrapped hers the six-year old cousin was like ‘that’s Dad’s!’ so naturally we all looked at each other like ‘oh shit, how does he know that?!’, but he was referring to the chocolate  letter ‘M’ that my mom had also gotten (both my mom and his dad’s names start with an M). It was a moment of panic haha.

The rest of the evening we played the games he had gotten, including the new ‘pie face game’ (at least it’s new here). If you’re not familiar with it, here’s a link. I was very lucky to not get whipped cream in my face (*cue evil laugh every time I escaped the cream*), but of course everyone insisted that I’d play until I got some too (why do they have to be so mean?!). That’s how I ended up with whipped cream in my eye.

That was my ‘pakjesavond’! If you celebrate Sinterklaas, did you have fun? If you don’t, what’s on your Christmas wish list? Let me know in the comments!

Blogsterdam: POPCULT

Blogsterdam is supposed to be a monthly thing but alas, the blogger behind this blog is very forgetful. She does try to get one up every month though. Look, one is posted on the very last day of November! Two months after the last one! Anyway, Blogsterdam is a blogging series in which this forgetful blogger talks about her hometown Amsterdam, as the city is so much more than drugs, cheese and the Red Light District.

popcult-amsterdam-logo-1433861946

I had been to the POPCULT stores a few times before, but while I liked the idea of the stores, I never bought something. Until this month.

When the first store appeared they mostly sold Super Mario, Adventure Time and DC comics stuff. While I have played Mario games in the past and love Yoshi, I’m not that much of a fan (do I have to hide now?). I’ve never seen Adventure Time (I only know about it from Tumblr) and at that point I had never seen a DC film (*hides for real this time especially since I still haven’t seen that many. I’M REALLY SLOW*). I could tell though that they had the potential to become a great store. AND THEY HAVE BECOME A GREAT STORE.

They slowly started to get more and more different franchises. Like there’s this Playstation 1 bag I’ve had my eye on since the first day I saw it (it’s rather expensive though and I already have so many bags… though one day!), not to mention this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles backpack in the shape of a shell… I REALLY WANT IT OKAY. BUT MONEY. PLUS MY MOM KEEPS STOPPING ME. Again, one day.

Last time I was in one of their stores though, they had truly become a pop culture store. Their name really does them justice. I should never visit this store without my mom, so she can stop me from making irrational decisions (I DON’T CARE THAT I’M 18 I WANT TO BE A NINJA TURTLE MOM).

They have so many brands now (THEY’RE GOING TO ADD MARVEL SOON- SPIDERMAN YES), that I’m not going to list them for you. It’s really worth a visit though! I got Pikachu sweat pants that aren’t just cute (I mean, it’s Pikachu), but they’re also really warm, soft and thus comfy. I also got a Pikachu hat and my mom bought me a Jigglypuff one (which I’ll receive at Sinterklaas or Christmas. I’m note sure) because I couldn’t choose.

Pikachu sweatpants

Note: The hoodie is not from PopCult. It was made by my mom

I believe (wow it sounds like I’m about to quote Avatar. I’m not) that POPCULT can be the Dutch Hot Topic (I definitely hope so!). If you’re not sure if they have brands that you like, check out their website. I’d also like to point out that their ‘our stores’ page isn’t up to date, as they have more stores! I don’t know all the addresses by heart, but they’re all relatively close together and I’m sure that if you ask in one store they can tell you where the others are (I recommend visiting different stores, as certain products can be sold out at one store but still in stock at the other).

The Weekly Hufflepuff #5

Another week is over! Doing these weekly wrap ups makes me even more aware of how fast time flies!

whatiread

So these weekly wrap ups run from last Sunday to Saturday, which means it doesn’t include today, buuuut… Today was the first day this week that I actually read (unless you count school books and blog posts).

I know, it’s terrible! It’s been such a long time since I haven’t read much. I haven’t necessarily been that busy with school, it’s mostly that it’s exhausting! Getting up early again, the stress of catching the bus and the train, all the newness (that’s totally a word. And if it isn’t it is now)… I actually had trouble reading when I came home! Letters even became blurry. Oh boy.

So what did I read today?

It’s so much fun to read old and new fairy tales! (With old and new I mean: old and new to me. There are some fairy tales in this book I had never heard of!). I’ve read eight stories today, but I might read more in the evening.

I hope that I’ll be able to read more next week. I just need to get back into routine!

personal

As I mentioned in my last wrap up I met up with a friend. We went to the centre and walked, talked and shopped (guys I wasn’t going to spend this much but…)

Of course there was a stop at the bookstore involved, where I couldn’t pass up two Pokémon Special volumes that were for sale! Then I discovered they had a Dumbledore Pop! Funko!! Naturally I immediately grabbed it.

As we were walking past a toy store I couldn’t help but notice out of the corner of my eye one Daisy Tsum Tsum. I literally ran into the storeIMG_4228 shouting ‘OH WAIT A SEC, SORRY’ at my friend. I mean, they had only ONE, so I couldn’t pass that up, could I?

We also stopped at Starbucks where I got a Cookie Cream Frapp
uccino and my friend got a Lemon something (I forgot the name). We were very confused about these piles of bags/pillows at the back of the store, wondering what was inside of them, until we realised it was a poster.

Our last stop was the Bijenkorf (a shopping mall), where we outed our shock at the prices of the clothes (it’s not funny guys) and where I found ‘The Arabian Nights’, which I needed because: 1) It was 25 euros which you may find expensive, but books like these are usually around 40 euros! 2) It’s gorgeous. 3) I love One Thousand and One Nights.

The next time we’ll see each other (which will be soon hopefully!) we made plans to go to the Foodhallen (Food Halls), which is an indoor market. Because you know, food.

School officially started this week! Thankfully it really wasn’t that bad and I’ve sort of made friends. I mean, it’s only the first week so I’m not sure I should call anyone my friend, but there are people I can talk and joke with! The classes are so far all fun and interesting and most of my teachers seem nice. I might do a post on studying journalism, but if I do it will be at the end of this quarter.

On a less exciting note, I think I’m developing a cold! My throat is really sore, my head feels a bit heavy, my stomach feels odd (the way it always does when I have a cold) and oh my God I don’t even want food.

Anyway, here’s the entire ‘haul’ from last Sunday:

I was planning on writing a post both on Friday and Saturday, but then it was actually Friday and I thought: nah, I can miss one day. I’ll post tomorrow. Same thing happened on Saturday. Thankfully that wasn’t the case today! Anyway here are this week’s posts:

elsewhere

So I’m not entirely caught up on all the posts posted this week. There are about 90 posts waiting for me on Bloglovin (it was a lot more yesterday), but I’m still going to share some of my favourites with you guys!

And that’s a wrap! I thought up a schedule for myself so that I can combine school, blogging (both reading your posts and writing my own), writing and reading. Hopefully I’ll be able to stick to that schedule! So how was your week? Did you start school yet? If so, I hope things are going well!

Music Monday: Nostalgia

It’s time for another Music Monday! Except that it’s Friday. Ssssh.

Music Monday is a bi-weekly link-up hosted by Bridget from Stay and Watch the Stars. This time the theme is ‘nostalgia’.

My playlist

nostalgia

You can also listen to this playlist on 8tracks.

Wish – Arashi

The song that introduced me to Arashi! Also my favourite Japanese drama <3

Crashed the Wedding – Busted

Probably not my first song (I honestly don’t remember which one was my first Busted song), but one of my favourites! I even made a music video for it with a friend haha.

Sakura Kiss – Chieko Kawabe

The opening song to my favourite anime! <3

Hakuna Matata – Lion King

Except the Dutch version is more nostalgic to me haha.

Pokémon Theme

This wasn’t just the theme song of Pokémon, it was the theme of my life.

Hanging by a Moment – Lifehouse

First song I heard of Lifehouse, now one of my favourite bands. I especially love to listen to them when I’m writing.

Under the Sea – The Little Mermaid

Again, the Dutch version is more nostalgic to me!

I’ll Be There for You – The Rembrandts

CLAP CLAP (I’m 100% positive I’m not the only one who claps haha)

Tale As Old As Time – Beauty and the Beast

And once again, Dutch version is more nostalgic, though I definitely prefer this one (as with all the Disney songs I prefer the original)

If you made a playlist for Music Monday I’d love to listen to it, so feel free to share the link to your post in the comments! Are any of these songs nostalgic to you as well?
