Bookish Pop! Funkos I Need In My Life

I don’t know how it happened, but recently I suddenly envisioned Cath from Fangirl as a Pop! Funko and it was the cutest thing. I’d draw it but I’m lazy and it’d take up waaaay to much time (and I don’t have that much time). Inspired by this ‘vision’ though, I decided to list some bookish Pop! Funkos I need in my life that I will probably never get, unless they’re turned into a popular movie/tv show (which would be awesome without the Funkos of course).

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Starting with the book that inspired this post, a Cath Pop! Funko would be adorable. Can you imagine little Cath, wearing her Carry On Simon T-shirt and cardigan, a copy of Simon Snow in her hand? ‘Cause I can.

In addition Levi and Reagan would be adorable too, and while I can’t really picture Wren (maybe a reread is due – not that I need an excuse to reread Fangirl) I know she’d be cute as a Pop! Funko

And obviously I need Snowbaz as Pop! Funkos as well. I need them because of reasons. And of course I need Penelope and Agatha to finish the squad (I know almost everyone hates Agatha but I really don’t. Also her Pop! Funko needs her dog Lucy).

Percy Jackson and the Heroes of Olympus

Source: Viria

Duh. I need my favourite demigods to stand in front of my Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus books. Preferably with cute objects that fit them. Percy with blue pizza in his hand (or other food, as long as it’s blue) and Riptide in the other; Annabeth with her dagger and laptop/a book; Grover I dunno holding a flower? He’d be cute either way; Jason wearing his dorky glasses; Leo with his tool belt and a wrench or other tool in his hand (maybe a flame in his other or is that too much to ask?); Piper with her dagger; Hazel with gems; Nico with a Happy Meal; Frank half transformed in preferably a cute animal like a panda (Frank is like a panda or a teddy bear, don’t fight me on this); Reyna just looking badass, maybe riding her Pegasus Scipio; Rachel holding a paintbrush and the infamous blue hairbrush; and of course Tyson and Ella and… I could go on because I want all the characters (well except Smelly Gabe). BUT HOW AWESOME WOULD THESE BE.

The Lunar Chronicles

Source: Candy8496

I need the Rampion Crew as Pop! Funko guys (including Iko of course. It was really hard to find good fan art of the entire crew, and for some reason I couldn’t find any with Iko in it. Is it too greedy to ask for android Iko and escort-droid Iko). I need them. Like air (okay not like air or I would’ve died already but you get what I mean). They would make such great, distinctive and adorable Pop! Funkos and I want to cry because unless the books are adapted for film/tv (preferably the latter) they will never exist and I need them. Can we start a petition for bookish Pop! Funkos so that they know they’re in demand and will sell well please. Oh and since they made a Hogwarts Express and the couch from Friends (or they’re making it, I don’t know if it’s out yet) can we get the Rampion itself too.

Shadowhunters

Shadowhunters has the most chance of getting their own Pop! Funkos because of the tv show. If it does well and becomes more popular, who knows? Obviously the Pops will look like the actors and I’m 100% down for that. THEY’LL BE EVEN MORE ADORABLE. How will they capture Matthew Dadario’s beauty in Pop! Funko form though. Oh and they better not leave out Luke (he’s a main character thank you), Raphael and Lydia.

There are probably a lot more bookish Pop! Funkos that I want (including the new and already existing Harry Potter Pop! Funkos duh), but these were the first ones that came to mind and that I really want. What bookish Pop! Funkos do you need in your life? Let me know in the comments!

Dutch Comic Con 2016

For my post on last years edition, click here

Two weeks ago it was time for the second edition of Dutch Comic Con! If you’ve read my post on last year’s edition, you know that I had a lot of fun back then, and I sure did again this year. I have to admit that I prefer last year’s edition, simply because it was too crowded this year (last year we went on a Sunday and most people go on Saturdays, plus it was more well known this time). This is also why I hardly took any pictures and it just didn’t have the same atmosphere like last year did. Back then it was so much easier to talk to other people, including cosplayers. It doesn’t mean I didn’t have any fun though!

IMG_0474

This year I went as Totoro: I wore a Totoro hoodie my mom had made a few years ago, a black skirt, my Totoro tights and my Totoro bag. I got some compliments and people even called me cute haha. If you’re wondering what’s on my head, it’s a Susuwatari/Soot Sprite. They’re in my hair as well!

IMG_0491

When we got home I found out that there had been a Pikachu here at some point. As you can imagine, I’m still incredibly pissed that I missed him. I WANTED TO TAKE A PICTURE WITH PIKACHU.

I was mostly looking forward to a panel hosted by the American Book Center, about Dutch writers, who live here, but write in English and are published in America. The writers they had invited for this panel (who were at other panels as well) were Corinne Duyvis, Marieke Nijkamp and Thomas Oldeheuvelt. It was really hard to hear anything though, so Thomas gestured for us to come stand behind them haha. Thomas if you’re reading this I’m sorry that I was basically breathing down your neck.

I still missed some things, but I caught most of it and it was really interesting and helpful. Not to mention all three writers were so lovely and funny. I should really get to reading their work haha. I hope that next year they’ll have microphones, but I’m sure they will. They probably already had some on Sunday.

Afterwards I had a huge headache from the way I had been standing and how hard I needed to concentrate to hear everything though, which sucked. But it was still worth it and I hope they’ll hold panels again next year! There were other panels I wanted to catch as well, but since it was so hard to overhear, I decided not to. This one was the most important one to me anyway!

The other highlight of my day was meeting Baymax!

Just kidding haha. The guy was really nice. We saw him pass by and I got really excited, so my mom was like: ‘You should’ve taken a picture with him!’ and he immediately turned around haha. He also got really excited when he saw my Baymax phone case (which I just realised I never showed you guys, but it’s adorable and perfect)

Because of the size of the costume he even walked like Baymax, which was brilliant.

IMG_0478

Look at him go. Off to bump some fists and heal some wounds

I mean HELP people. And HEAL them. Not destroy. Evil!Baymax is scary. Especially since he still looks like a fluffy marshmallow.

IMG_0488.jpg

I also ran into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

All in all it was a fun day. Not so much for my wallet though haha. Last year I was on a mission to find an Alice Pop!Funko, but sadly she was sold out everywhere. So this year I was still on the hunt for her, but also for Harry, Ron and Hagrid (I already had Hermione and Dumbledore, and Snape and Voldemort aren’t my biggest priorities)

And I succeeded!

pops.jpg

And I found a few more too haha. And I just realised I forgot to put Phoebe (Friends) in the picture! Well I bought her too haha. LOOK AT MY SMALL ARMY OF POP! FUNKOS! TOGETHER WE SHALL- well I don’t know what we’ll do, taking over the world sounds so exhausting.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESSAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

And of course I got plushies as well. I’ve got a problem guys. But I got less plushies than last year (only because my mom stopped me a few times lol). So I may have missed that big Pikachu in front of the Pokémon poster, I did find myself this adorable sleeping Pikachu, which I didn’t think I’d find since I thought they were only sold in Japan. I also got another Pom Pom Purin plush (I wish I could tell you guys that my other one is smaller, but it’s not. I’m pretty sure that it’s bigger) which is adorable and soft and perfect for hugging. I also finally got my hands on green tea Kit Kat! I did find it before, but it was just so expensive. I’ve always wanted to try it, because I love green tea and I love Kit Kat. I’m happy to say that I like it. I can’t eat too many of them in a row though, or I’ll get nauseous. Pikachu likes them too haha

So that was my day at Dutch Comic Con! A summary anyway haha. I don’t even remember everything anymore. But it was fun.

Have you been to a con lately? Did you have fun? Let me know in the comments!

Sinterklaas, food and whipped cream in my eye

Last Saturday was Sinterklaas, a Dutch holiday. I won’t give you guys a detailed explanation about it (since it’s pretty long haha), but basically on December 5th it’s ‘pakjesavond’ (‘presents nights’) and Sinterklaas visits all the children in the country and leaves a lot of presents and candy.

I ate so much food (if some of it even counts as food haha), which is no surprise unless you’re new here (in that case: hi!) because if you’ve been around for a while you should know of my love for food.

Basically I was really full and a bit nauseous (but content!) when we went home haha. But of course the evening wasn’t just us eating! (it may sound that our family gatherings are always me and my family stuffing ourselves with food, but really, it isn’t!)

To keep my six-year old cousin occupied we played some games when all of a sudden we heard a few loud knocks on the door! But when we opened it, there was no one there except for presents! My cousin remained very calm as he dragged his presents inside haha. He had a cool image to keep up of course.

He was really spoiled, but he wasn’t the only one who got presents!

Sinterklaas

How did Sinterklaas know I wanted all of this?! *cough picked all of it out myself cough*. I ordered the illustrated Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone when it had just come out, but since it’s rather expensive I got it for Sinterklaas (though I was really lucky to already find it with a 50% discount!). I now own two Harry Potter POP! Funkos (I already owned Dumbledore), more Tsum Tsums have joined my Tsum Tsum family and I finally have Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (if you’re a fan of Animal Crossing, I definitely recommend it. It’s very cute and fun to play!). I mentioned the Jigglypuff hat in my post about POPCULT. I thought I’d get it for Christmas, but since it’s cold already my mom decided to give it to me now (I mean, Sinterklaas decided that).

I actually wanted to take a picture including the chocolate and the gingerbread man I got, but most of the chocolate is gone already (I doubt any of you are surprised to hear that). My six-year old cousin’s father always buys the gingerbread men, and when my mom unwrapped hers the six-year old cousin was like ‘that’s Dad’s!’ so naturally we all looked at each other like ‘oh shit, how does he know that?!’, but he was referring to the chocolate  letter ‘M’ that my mom had also gotten (both my mom and his dad’s names start with an M). It was a moment of panic haha.

The rest of the evening we played the games he had gotten, including the new ‘pie face game’ (at least it’s new here). If you’re not familiar with it, here’s a link. I was very lucky to not get whipped cream in my face (*cue evil laugh every time I escaped the cream*), but of course everyone insisted that I’d play until I got some too (why do they have to be so mean?!). That’s how I ended up with whipped cream in my eye.

That was my ‘pakjesavond’! If you celebrate Sinterklaas, did you have fun? If you don’t, what’s on your Christmas wish list? Let me know in the comments!

Harry Potter POP! Funkos I Need In My Life Right Now

Hey guys! I think I’m slowly getting back in the blogging game! I hope I still feel the same way tomorrow haha.

ANYWAY. Today I want to talk to you guys about Harry Potter POP! Funkos. As of now there are 7 POP! Funkos: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Dumbledore, Hagrid, Snape and Voldemort. I recently acquired Dumbledore and will be gifted Hermione at Sinterklaas (Dutch holiday. How I know I’m getting that? Because I was there when my mother bought it haha). Now, I love the ones they currently have (though I won’t get Snape and Voldemort unless I find them for a really cheap price), buuuut…

Okay so I’m a bit greedy. BUT GUYS. Recently I was taking a shower (don’t worry, I shower everyday: I’m a clean girl. But I’m talking about a particular shower… session? That sounds kind of wrong. I assure you it was a regular shower) and as usual when I’m taking a shower my mind drifted. I don’t know about you guys, but the shower is one of my inspiration places. I just get so many ideas (and usually good ones)! So I got thinking about the POP! Funkos they could make (read: MUST make) and that lead to this post.

So here are the POP! Funkos I want, in no particular order

Minerva McGonagall

I mean come on. Don’t we ALL want a McGonagall POP! Funko? And it should have her Animagus form at her side with the glass shapes around her eyes. IMAGINE HOW CUTE IT WOULD BE.

Remus Lupin

With a chocolate bar in his hand. DUH.

Luna Lovegood

I’m sorry, but why did Snape get a POP! Funko when Luna didn’t?! Imagine Luna with her radish earrings and her Spectrespecs, but as a POP! Funko. YES PLEASE

Ginny Weasley

Again, Snape but not Ginny?? I want several Ginnys…Ginnies?? Well you get what I mean. I actually want several POP! Funkos of more characters, but imagine young first year Ginny carrying Tom Riddle’s diary and then older Ginny in her Gryffindor Quidditch uniform, carrying a broom. I’d take any Ginny POP! Funko though, because Ginny.

Neville Longbottom

Snape, but not- Yeah you guys get the gist. BUT IMAGINE POP! FUNKO NEVILLE WEARING THOSE PINK FUZZY EAR WARMERS CARRYING HIS MIMBULUS MIMBLETONIA (yeah he doesn’t need those ear warmers when attending to the Mimbulus Mimbletonia, but they’re CUTE).

Sirius Black

Look at this beautiful slow-mo gif. Look at Lucy’s beautiful golden locks flowing

Because we all love Sirius, right? RIGHT?! Just like McGonagall he should have his Animagus form at his side (BIG FLUFFY DOG). I can’t think of an accessory, but SIRIUS BLACK AIN’T NEED NO ACCESSORY (that was terrible. I’m sorry). HE’S TOO FABULOUS FOR THAT.

Fred and George Weasley

THEY BETTER NOT SEPARATE THE WEASLEY TWINS. YOU CAN’T SELL THEM SEPARATELY. NOPE. Imagine them with a bag of Dungbombs in one of their hands and the Marauder’s Map in the other!

Tonks

With her bright pink hair and maybe her pig’s nose! Tonks would be such a cute, cheerful POP! Funko that I definitely want to add to my collection. Plus, it’s Tonks.

Animals/magical creatures

I don’t know how Hedwig and Dobby would look like as POP! Funkos, but I can totally imagine Buckbeak as one. IMAGINE BUCKBEAK WITH THOSE CUTE POP! FUNKO EYES. I WANT IT. I NEED IT. And of course: Crookshanks. Crookshanks is already cute, but as a POP! Funko?

This is how I feel about all of these POP! Funkos though

Molly and Arthur Weasley

Okay, they can separate Molly and Arthur. They’re not twins (ew that would be incest). I just put them together for my own convenience. Imagine Arthur with a RUBBER DUCK in his hand. And Molly maybe knitting (okay I know it’s too much to ask for her to be knitting a Weasley jumper, but a Potterhead can dream right?)

Fleur Delacour

Fleur is underrated, but she’s such an amazing, strong, beautiful character. Plus imagine her in her Beauxbatons outfit as a POP! Funko. Cuteness overload.

Draco Malfoy

Um okay so it wouldn’t make any sense but a Draco Malfoy POP! Funko with cat ears would be really cute?? NO. WE NEED AN ENTIRE LINE OF ALL THE CHARACTERS WITH CAT EARS (and hey, in Hermione’s and McGonagall’s case it’s sort of canon. And I’m sure Umbridge likes to wear them in her free time- not that I’d want an Umbridge POP! Funko (unless it’s AVPS’ MAMA UMBRIDGE) I’m just saying)

Whether you like him or not, he’s an important character and if Snape and Voldemort get their own POP! Funko’s, then so should he.

Merlin I just want them all! I even want Gilderoy Lockhart and Rita Skeeter, because they’d look so cute. I can entirely picture them, especially Rita (for some reason I just can’t help but picture AVPSY’s Gilderoy Lockhart as a POP! Funko instead of book Lockhart?). I’d also love a AVPM line of POP! Funkos, but that is probably an unlikely dream (but again, a Potterhead can dream!)

Do you agree with me? Any characters you think should definitely be added to this list (I mean ‘I just want them all’ doesn’t really cut it I know)? Of course Harry Potter is so big, at some point they will extend the line and there will be more, but I just can’t wait! (Yeah I’m impatient, deal with it)

The Weekly Hufflepuff #5

Another week is over! Doing these weekly wrap ups makes me even more aware of how fast time flies!

whatiread

So these weekly wrap ups run from last Sunday to Saturday, which means it doesn’t include today, buuuut… Today was the first day this week that I actually read (unless you count school books and blog posts).

I know, it’s terrible! It’s been such a long time since I haven’t read much. I haven’t necessarily been that busy with school, it’s mostly that it’s exhausting! Getting up early again, the stress of catching the bus and the train, all the newness (that’s totally a word. And if it isn’t it is now)… I actually had trouble reading when I came home! Letters even became blurry. Oh boy.

So what did I read today?

It’s so much fun to read old and new fairy tales! (With old and new I mean: old and new to me. There are some fairy tales in this book I had never heard of!). I’ve read eight stories today, but I might read more in the evening.

I hope that I’ll be able to read more next week. I just need to get back into routine!

personal

As I mentioned in my last wrap up I met up with a friend. We went to the centre and walked, talked and shopped (guys I wasn’t going to spend this much but…)

Of course there was a stop at the bookstore involved, where I couldn’t pass up two Pokémon Special volumes that were for sale! Then I discovered they had a Dumbledore Pop! Funko!! Naturally I immediately grabbed it.

As we were walking past a toy store I couldn’t help but notice out of the corner of my eye one Daisy Tsum Tsum. I literally ran into the storeIMG_4228 shouting ‘OH WAIT A SEC, SORRY’ at my friend. I mean, they had only ONE, so I couldn’t pass that up, could I?

We also stopped at Starbucks where I got a Cookie Cream Frapp
uccino and my friend got a Lemon something (I forgot the name). We were very confused about these piles of bags/pillows at the back of the store, wondering what was inside of them, until we realised it was a poster.

Our last stop was the Bijenkorf (a shopping mall), where we outed our shock at the prices of the clothes (it’s not funny guys) and where I found ‘The Arabian Nights’, which I needed because: 1) It was 25 euros which you may find expensive, but books like these are usually around 40 euros! 2) It’s gorgeous. 3) I love One Thousand and One Nights.

The next time we’ll see each other (which will be soon hopefully!) we made plans to go to the Foodhallen (Food Halls), which is an indoor market. Because you know, food.

School officially started this week! Thankfully it really wasn’t that bad and I’ve sort of made friends. I mean, it’s only the first week so I’m not sure I should call anyone my friend, but there are people I can talk and joke with! The classes are so far all fun and interesting and most of my teachers seem nice. I might do a post on studying journalism, but if I do it will be at the end of this quarter.

On a less exciting note, I think I’m developing a cold! My throat is really sore, my head feels a bit heavy, my stomach feels odd (the way it always does when I have a cold) and oh my God I don’t even want food.

Anyway, here’s the entire ‘haul’ from last Sunday:

haul

what I posted-2

I was planning on writing a post both on Friday and Saturday, but then it was actually Friday and I thought: nah, I can miss one day. I’ll post tomorrow. Same thing happened on Saturday. Thankfully that wasn’t the case today! Anyway here are this week’s posts:

elsewhere

So I’m not entirely caught up on all the posts posted this week. There are about 90 posts waiting for me on Bloglovin (it was a lot more yesterday), but I’m still going to share some of my favourites with you guys!

And that’s a wrap! I thought up a schedule for myself so that I can combine school, blogging (both reading your posts and writing my own), writing and reading. Hopefully I’ll be able to stick to that schedule! So how was your week? Did you start school yet? If so, I hope things are going well!
